Building Immunity

A blog submission from my daughter, a 14 year-old with a 10 day old killer cough! Take a peak at some of the things we’ve been using to build her immune system and help her fight this crazy winter bug!

Lately I have been feeling sick with a really bad cough. My mom has been giving me these holistic remedies to make me feel better. We thought there may be a few people that would benefit from learning what we use. I’ll be honest some of these don’t taste so great (wild cherry black syrup) but I’m learning to like tea! πŸ’πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Here is a list of the Top 10 Remedies to Build Immunity!

  1. Egyptian Licorice Yogi Tea is super sweet and delicious. Benefits of licorice include digestion, but also has some anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting properties in it, so mom is happy! πŸ΅

  2. Old Indian Wild Cherry Black Syrup helps to suppress a cough. I have to admit, the flavor isn’t great. If you need it, it’s supposed to work like a charm; visit FullScript to purchase. πŸ’Š

  3. Innate C Complete Powder β€” helps boost your immune system as well as promote healthy digestion. This powder mixes in perfectly with Skinny Tree Tanger-Ade Drink.🍊

  4. Bio Active Silver Hydrosol Immune Support Spray helps to ward off germs and fight colds and the flu.

  5. Do Terra Respiratory Essential Oil Blend helps to ease your breathing and calm your cough. This oil is also very soothing.

  6. Vitamin D maintains your bone health and supports your immune system and lung function. πŸ’Š

  7. If you like ginger, this one’s for you, a sweet treat called Arjuna Bar from The Ginger People.

  8. Honey coats your throat and soothes it – simple and easy to take on its own or in hot water. πŸ―

  9. Bee Pollen is a protein that boosts your immune system. We add it to my tea.🐝

  10. Last, but not least, it’s all about balance, right? So, in the photo above, you will see me posing with a donut from The Dough Bar, a D-I-Y donut that is baked, not fried, and contains extra protein to build my strength! Super fun to make and pretty good too! πŸ©

I still feel sick 😷 so the best thing so far has been honey tea with bee pollen!  Sometimes I’ll drink bone broth (only with noodles though!). Please comment with any remedies that have worked for you!
